In the Language of Becoming (the Green Gaze) 

She looks back, her eyes tracing the invisible threads of where she has been. The green cloth whispers of renewal and rootedness, of cultures meeting within her. In her turning, the past and present speak the same soft language ""becoming”

The series presents a poignant meditation on identity within an increasingly fluid world. Through three quietly charged portraits, i capture the intimate gestures that define our transitions, the fold of an arm, a backward glance, an upward lift.

 Each figure carries the meeting point of African rootedness and global influence, revealing how culture is not inherited whole but continually rewritten through lived experience.

My restrained landscapes and symbolic fabrics transform simple moments into powerful metaphors for memory, hybridity, and resilience. The triptych becomes a visual vocabulary of becoming, a reminder that identity is not fixed, but quietly negotiated in the spaces between who we were, who we are, and who we are still becoming.
