About the Artwork
Red explores the complex relationship between identity, memory, vulnerability, and transformation. Through the recurring image of a female figure interacting with a vibrant red cloth, the series examines the ways individuals carry, conceal, protect, and ultimately negotiate their lived experiences.
The red fabric functions as both burden and refuge. At times it obscures the figure, shielding her from the world, it becomes a symbol of inherited histories, emotional weight, resilience, and self-discovery. The repeated gestures of wrapping, holding, lifting, and unveiling suggest an ongoing dialogue between concealment and revelation.
Set against expansive atmospheric landscapes, the works occupy a space between reality and symbolism. The figure’s movements become metaphors for the human condition the continuous process of navigating personal histories while searching for clarity, freedom, and renewal.
Caught between concealment and expression, the figure negotiates the tension between what is hidden and what seeks to be revealed.
