About the Artwork
This piece is a statement on the use of fear as a tool for oppression by figures of authority.
We witness it everywhere, and through it's various faces - in politics, in religion, in our traditions, and the most mundane places. We often find ourselves bending to the will of people in power, unable to question their misdeeds for fear of the consequences of fighting back. Our silence and compliance further validating their authority.
