In a country ranked number one in Africa for alcohol consumption (uganda), The Thirst That Took Everything mirrors a crisis hidden in plain sight. Many seek escape in the bottle ! chasing laughter, forgetting pain,but when the high fades, the same demons return, stronger than before.

This artwork captures a man trapped inside a giant bottle, his cracked body leaking the very substance that’s consuming him. The broken clock below symbolizes wasted time and shattered destinies. dreams lost to addiction’s slow erosion.

Created over two months in ballpoint pen, the piece reflects the worlds silent epidemic: lives undone, families broken, shameful acts committed under the illusion of freedom. It’s a haunting reminder that what begins as a sip to forget can end as a thirst that takes everything ,time, dignity, and self.
