Uchechi Gift Udochukwu, born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Her early creative talents were honed under the tutelage of the Omidiran African Art School in Ile-Ife, Osun State, while she simultaneously pursued a B.Sc. and B.Ed. in Economics and Education at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University. Gift’s artistic repertoire includes participation in several joint and solo exhibitions. She is a regular contributor to the Lagos International Trade Fair Exhibition and an active member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (S.N.A.), showcasing her work annually at the esteemed October Rain Exhibitions. Known for her prolific output in diverse mixed media paintings, Gift dedicates her weekdays and weekends to her studio practice. Her work passionately embodies African themes and formations, capturing culturally inclined artistic expressions. Currently, she resides and creates in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, as a self-taught artist. Artist Statement I am an artist inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the vibrancy of my immediate environment. These elements ignite my creativity, driving me to weave together colors, forms, motifs, patterns, textures, and lines into cohesive and evocative art pieces.
