About Audu Owoicho
I am a sculpture/installation artist with great interest in exploring and creating works inspired by organic forms and waste materials like fabrics to communicate feelings, thoughts or ideas as it relates to humans and the environment.I got a BA in Visual and Creative Art (Sculpture) from Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. I also have worked with Prof. Eva Obodo during my higher institution days as means to further develop my talent and skills.I have exhibited in Life In My City Art Festival (LIMCAF) 2023 edition at regional base. In 2024 edition of the Life In My City Art Festival, I was one of the top 21 artist winning the endowed prize for best in originality.For 5 years now, I've been exploring a biomorphic form called Ainuebe-a particular bangle gotten from hollowed animal bones which many attributed to [be] elephant tusks. I'm using bamboo sticks and fabrics to explore this form.
