I am a self thought artist based in Accra, Ghana. My art is inspired by West African masks, sculptural pieces, patterns and symbols. In my own way I re-imagine African artistic pieces to reflect contemporary times. The aim is to connect people to our ancestors and culture. I call this Afro-Ancestral spiritualism. This holds real meaning for me and every African or non-African that appreciates it. I explore various mediums such as acrylic, oil, pastel, wood and the digital mediums. In reference to the digital medium I make art in virtual reality and augmented reality as well. By drawing inspiration from the imagery in African Culture and Religion I infuse my own uniqueness and extra layers of meaning to my art with emphasis on bold colors, abstraction and symbolism. I combine the flexibility of digital mediums with the authenticity of traditional methods to make my art. Themes such as identity, connection, religion, depression and rejection can be observed in my works.
