In the art world, the way we make and enjoy it is influenced by two big factors; the rules (cultural policies) and the money (funding).
Cultural policies and funding play a pivotal role in shaping the vibrant tapestry of the art world. In this article, we delve into the impact of cultural policies on artists and institutions and the funding options available for artists to keep their creativity alive.
What is Cultural Policy? Cultural policy is the government setting up processes, rules, legal classifications, and institutions that promote diversity and protect the culture and the creative behind arts. The idea of cultural policy also involves arts policy, which involves indirect funding of art curators and institutions (galleries). The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) exemplifies Nigeria’s commitment to balancing freedom of expression with cultural values. TYPES OF FUNDING

Platforms like Kickstarter has been a game-changer for individual artists seeking funding for specific projects.
