Ekeresimesi is a word used by the igbo tribe in the eastern part of Nigeria to describe Christmas.in this painting I try to portray the nostalgia surrounding Christmas period as kids.We alway expected to get gifts for the celebration,we wanted new clothes shoes, toys and especially watches and sunshades which made us really feel like it's Christmas and also made us feel like we belonged with other kids.
